Open Sesame
Since 10 November 1969, Sesame Street has been educating kids from around the world on everything from the alphabet, to numbers from one to ten, to… the meaning of life.
I’ve recently been researching the celebrity appearances on Sesame Street, and its encouraging to see that our stars are helping kids get to grips with such issues.
Here are a few of the best clips I’ve found.
In the first one, the Man in Black, Johnny Cash teaches Oscar the Grouch, that not all people are nice, and that in fact some are nasty (just like Oscar).
Then, we get De Niro, teaching Elmo about Stanislavsky, and vitamins (apparently, cabbages are ‘a good source of Riboflavin’, so that’s good to know)
Luckily, Jame Blunt, the leading light in bland public school pop, is around to bring the subject matter back to what Sesame Street does best, by teaching Telly the principles of geometry.
